Tre Bicchieri by Gambero Rosso for our Nittardi Riserva Selezionata
We are very happy to announce that our Chianti Classico Nittardi Riserva Selezionata received again the “Tre Bicchieri” by Gambero Rosso, one of the most prestigious and sought after awards an Italian Wine can win.
Nittardi Riserva Selezionata 2011 is a selection of our best Sangiovese grapes with a small percentage of Merlot from our single vineyard “Vigna Alta”, located on 500 meters with a southern exposure. After a careful selection in the vineyard the grapes were selected again before a natural fermentation. The wine aged than two years in French 500 liter oak barrels and one more year in bottle before being released.
Thanks to the high altitude of the Nittardi vineyards and meticulous work by our vineyard worker even in the hot and dry season 2011 the grapes ripened well without producing too hot and jammy wines. We are very happy about the drinkability and finesse of our Riserva 2011 that shows so much balance and elegance already now.
Nittardi Riserva 2011 will be presented around the world through different events organized by Gambero Rosso. We showed the wine already in Rome, Tokyo, Shanghai and Hong Kong in early November. More events in the USA, Germany and Canada will follow in 2015.
